Hawk-The Hawks are a common sight here in rural Oregon. They sail in circular patterns, searching for rodents in the wheat field stubble, then swooping down for dinner. You will see them perched on power poles, snag tree limbs and even on these new high falutin' transmission towers for cell phone. The are a very efficient and beautiful pest control for the farms and even for rodent control in the suburbs.

I had one Red Tail Hawk hit a starling in my back yard last year. He kept a wary eye on me as he cleaned up his meal. When he finally flew off, there were only few black feathers left on the ground to show he had been there. Very interesting and beautiful birds of prey.
