ART INYO MC KELLIPS HOLDING WHALE HUNT

Art Inyo McKellips passed away, July 26, 2007.

It was an honor and a privilege to know Art, and to create this website to display only a small portion of what Art created over the years.

This website will continue in his memory.

Art is gone, but he will not be forgotten. Carve on, our friend!

SEE TRIBUTE TO ART

The purpose of this website is to introduce you to Art Inyo Mc Kellips the man, as well as Art Inyo Mc Kellips the woodcarver/artist.

Because Art Inyo McKellips has been doing woodcarvings for well over 40 years the majority of the site is dedicated to his carvings.

With a few exceptions, you can Click on the Pictures throughout the site and go to pages which allow you to zoom up the carving to see more detail.

On the  WOODCARVINGS Page there are thumbnails of a carving from each category as well as titles, that link  to the Contents Page of each category. From there click on the thumbnails to see larger pictures with descriptions  of the carvings. Use the drop down menus on the Contents Pages or Zoom Pages to navigate between categories.
NEW CARVINGS UP! OCTOBER 2006!

There are some CARVINGS AVAILABLE FOR SALE, they are marked accordingly. Most carvings can be used to cast Bronzes without damaging the wood carving itself. For Information on Prices or to Discuss Casting Rights... At this time the STATUS of the carvings FOR SALE..is UNKNOWN

Beyond the carvings is a man who is 74 years young. On the OSAGE-AMONSOQUATH  CHEROKEE ANCESTRY Page you can read about Art Inyo Mc Kellips' ancestry as well as part of his story along with links to pictures he refers to in the text.

On the A NATIVE AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT Page you can read a proposal Inyo has made to the Tribal Council on a subject that he is passionate about.

The HIS STORY Page will be a compilation of stories from Art Inyo Mc Kellips along with pictures,  carvings, newspaper articles, magazine covers, etc., that will give further insight into both the carvings and Art Inyo Mc Kellips. In the meantime, there are many stories on the carvings on the carving pages.

The BILL OBERHUE Page showcases the work of an carver/artist that impressed Art, which is not an easy thing to do!

The LINKS Page has links to sites of other woodcarvers, wood carving information and associations, Native American sites and other interesting and informative sites that Art Inyo Mc Kellips has found in his travels on the internet.
