The Spirit of '76 in Perspective
"Spirit of '76"--Comissioned by X-ACTO Corporation, an affiliate of CBS as a exhibit in Trade show in Chicago. This was a Traveling exhibit. It was finally donated to the National Carvers Museum at Colorado Springs. I also did a Five foot tall "Uncle Sam Wants You" ( which was one of my favorite and best carvings ) and accompanied it to Chicago for the trade show.. This was for X-Acto Corporation and CBS. All the Salesmen lined up and I had them carve a small spot ( somewhere where it didn't louse up the carving) then had them sign their names on the back like they had carved it. That went over very well with them.

7 Foot square and three inch thick basswood.
