| Trapper and Pack Mule in the Mountains-The Trappers would usually split off from the company of the others in the Trapping Brigades and head out to trap alone. Reasons were simple, too many thieves amongst the people surrounding the "trade", many who would kill you and steal your furs and equipment if you were not constantly watchful. Every one knows Indians and Trappers often fought, but most white people cannot easily accept that a big portion of murder and theft was committed by white Trappers themselves and blaming it on the Indians.~Inyo This carving was Honduras Mahogany and was auctioned off at Charlie Russell Western Art Show. Stood 44 Inches tall as I remember. |
