Pete Kelly's Blues-

This is a take off of my New Orleans visit and walking the docks alongside the River, I could, and did, in a moment of reverie, envision the musician, alone with his music, sitting on the dock playing for no body's amusement but his own and annoying no-one with his selection of tunes.

Jack Webb played Pete Kelly in a movie years back; can't remember what it was except he played a musician and I loved the music.

The symbolic cotton bale (real cotton bound in burlap) is from a Bar in New Orleans. They put them on the tables so the barmaids

know who is ready to order. Used the bale in this and Louie Armstrong pictures.

Figure sits Fifteen and a half inches tall by five and a half by five and a half. Figure is Basswood, Dock and Piers assembled scraps of hardwoods.
