MC DONELL OF KEPPOCH-
My father's Clan Chieftain of the McDonell of Keppoch ( Ceapach ), very warlike and really a tough individual in battle.

He was the first to hit the British column prior to Culloden, and defeated them, giving rise to a Highland tune about " Are ye still running Johnny Cope?" which referred to John Cope the British General, fleeing the battle and leaving his troops leaderless.

A standard Line of Highland Clans ALWAYS took up the same position in line of Battle. Prince Charlie succumbed to Lousy advice and did not place the "KEPPOCHS", and others, in their standard position a short time later at the Battle of Culloden, and the Highlanders sustained a terrible defeat and slaughter of warriors.

Their wives and families, women and children were

cornered in their homes and butchered merely because they were Scots and related to Highlanders.

Clan McDonell of Keppoch ( part of the Mac Donald's ) has been without a Chieftain from his death until 2004 when a McDonald was appointed Chieftain By the Scottish courts to fill the vacancy after all these years.

11 1/2" tall by 7' front to back and 4 1/2" across.
